Hospital Transformation

Hospitals are beacons of health and healing, maintaining a constant demand for hot water and electrical energy to support medical equipment, lighting, and air conditioning systems. SCIVEN steps in to ensure these vital needs are met reliably and economically.

The Challenge:

Our mission took us to a hospital spanning two buildings, serving as a hub for outpatient consultations, clinical support services, and a therapeutic unit equipped with specialized facilities like a therapeutic gym, therapeutic pool, adaptive sports pavilion, and other essential support services. The hospital faced an urgent need to update its thermal energy source for water heating, a replacement for its outdated and pollutant-laden gas boilers. With an annual consumption of 1,169,439.44 kWh, a sustainable solution was imperative.

Biomass Boilers for a Greener Tomorrow:

Upon careful analysis of the hospital’s energy consumption patterns, SCIVEN proposed a forward-thinking approach. The solution involved the installation of two biomass boilers, catering to the energy requirements of the indoor pool, air conditioning, and service hot water. These boilers signify a substantial improvement for the hospital, moving away from an older system that was not only more polluting but also twice as expensive, towards a greener and more cost-efficient setup.

Savings with SCIVEN Solutions:

Our interventions yielded substantial benefits:
Annual Electricity Savings: 47,620 kWh, equating to 22,382 kgCO2eq (CO2 emissions) reduction and savings of 6,192 euros.
Annual Gas Savings: 168,481 kWh, accompanied by a reduction of 5,066 kgCO2eq in CO2 emissions and savings of 13,477 euros.
